Start or Change Direct Deposit
Direct Deposit is the safest way to deposit your net pay, Social Security, pension, or other regular checks into your credit union account. Your money is electronically transferred and immediately available every pay period.
Setting up Direct Deposit with Langley Federal Credit Union is easy, but your employer may have special requirements - for instance, your employer may use a custom form, may require a signature from the credit union, or may only require a voided check! You should ask your employer first if he or she has particular requirements. The following example is meant to show you how easy it can be to set up or change Direct Deposit with LFCU.
Step 1: To start a Direct Deposit into your LFCU account - or to change a Direct Deposit from one LFCU account to another LFCU account - you'll need to know the LFCU account number into which the deposit should go.
To deposit directly to your checking account, locate the 12-digit checking account number on the bottom of your LFCU checks and enter that on the form. To deposit into your S1 savings account, just provide your 3-6 digit member number. If your savings account has a decimal (S1.1 or S1.2), simply replace the S and the decimal point with a zero.
Examples for Member Number 999999
| To deposit into... | Use... |
|---|---|
| Your checking account | ... the 12-digit number on the bottom of your checks |
| Your S1 savings account | ... your member number (e.g. 999999) |
| Your S1.1 savings account | ... replace S and . with 0 (e.g. 9999990101) |
| Your S1.2 savings account | ... replace S and . with 0 (e.g. 9999990102) |
Step 2: When you know the LFCU account number into which you want your checks deposited, complete one of the forms below:
- For recipients of a government payroll - i.e., Social Security, VA Compensation, Military Active Duty or Retired - please complete Form SF1199A (201k PDF file).
- For all other company payrolls, check with your payroll office. If your office doesn't have a form or if it requires a form signed by LFCU, complete the LFCU direct deposit form (119k PDF file).
Step 3: Regardless of which form you select, sign the form and deliver it to your payroll office. If you would like us to verify your account information before you submit it to your payroll office, please contact Member Services using our secure connection. Your payroll office can tell you when the Direct Deposit will take effect.
