Protect Yourself Against Fraud and Scams
RECENT THREATS and SOLUTIONS Posted: July 9, 2008
ADVISORY: Some members and non-members of Langley Federal Credit Union have received an email claiming to be from LFCU. One email states that the recipient's "account is temporarily locked" and asks them to "complete an account update form so we can unlock your account." The other email states that the recipient's "online account has expired" and asks them to "renew their online account." These emails were NOT issued by LFCU or any partner of LFCU, and should be deleted. Do not follow the instructions in the emails. Do not click the links. The links shown in the emails do not go to an LFCU website.

If someone claiming to represent LFCU contacts you by email or telephone, and directs you to a website that is not listed above, email our Information Security Department or call the LFCU Contact Center for verification before complying.

  1. LFCU will never send email directing you to a website to "verify" your personal or account information.
  2. LFCU staff members will never ask for your password or PIN number to any service.
